Flying Back and Forth
Why the Window Seat Is the Best Choice
Discover why choosing a window seat on flights brings peace when flying home.
There’s always a certain kind of nostalgia that hits when you're traveling from your workplace back home. No matter how long you've been away, that longing to be with your people never fades. And even when we finally get a few days with family, it never quite feels like enough.
For me, air travel has become my go-to way of getting home. And without fail, I always choose a window seat.
Why? Because there’s something deeply calming—and a little magical—about watching the world from above. If you love the sky, the clouds, and the endless ways they change with time and weather, you’ll know exactly what I mean. The view from a plane window is like a silent movie, always playing something new. It never disappoints… unless the flight attendant decides to change your seat last minute.
Of course, everyone has their own travel preferences—but for me, the window seat brings a little extra peace.
Over time, I’ve also learned how much the time of day affects your experience:
Morning flights offer stunning sunrises that slowly light up the sky.
Evening flights are perfect for watching sunsets melt into the horizon.
Afternoon flights? They can be a bit too bright, even harsh, so I usually skip the window seat at that time.
Night flights are my personal favorite—if the weather is clear, the view is nothing short of magical. On cloudy nights, though, you're better off flying during the day.
If you’re flying for the first time, I highly recommend trying a window seat. It’s more than just a better view—it’s a chance to connect with something peaceful, even during a busy trip.
I hope that every journey you take helps you find calm in the chaos—and reminds you of how beautiful the sky can be when you take a moment to really look at it. Because sometimes, all it takes is a cloud, a burst of sunlight, or a quiet sky to shift your entire mood.
